    On the question of the relationship between Helena and Alyona - probably none at all. I have now had letters from someone called Jasmina Dvorak which are identical to those from Helena Kapkova... But they have photos of a different woman. I guess the women in the pictures are just having their photos harvested, and don't know anything about it.

    Don't know how you spotted that connection Grant but yeah there's no doubt the photos are all of Alyona. The question is, is she doing the scam or has someone stolen her photos?

    Also, who is Dave Wilson? Name on a bank account I was asked to transfer funds to (alleged uncle).

    Yes she is still in Prague (Apparently) trying to scrounge up the money for her mom's apartment. Her real name is Alyona Mayboroda, who is from Prague and her and her husband were in Australia for there honeymoon in 2004 and they also studied here at Uni in Brisbane. He is not dead, as they still post things on there Euopean Facebook version (vk.com).

    All the photo's that she sends come from Alyona Mayboroda photo page.

    The question is, is it the real girl Alyona sending the pic's or another scammer who has downloaded all her photo's.

    But as everyone else has said, don't send her money.

    Be careful.......

    Bit of a mind blower, reading these stories so very similar to my own. Not a habitual web user so only did this search now, not before I came so very close to being breaking my own old rule, of not giving any money till you meet face to face. Very persuasive. Had calls coming from the Czech republic on my phone, but next day it came up as an Oz mobile - 0404 825 750. Also using 0404 806 543. (but claiming to be from Praha).

    Also had emails from Svetlana in Sydney, also half my age.

    Lol, scammers are easy to predict, a couple of letters and you find inconsistent, they don't answer your questions, and trying to say the are honest, (their first mistake), some of these girls make the mistake of multi sending to everyone, depending on your email, you can pick it up,

    I've also noticed, they only use your name at the start, never through the letter,

    I got a phone call tonight which confirms my suspicion.

    I'm going to play along, as if I'm falling for her, but then really a waste of time,

    Heads up, if something don't feel right, most the time it isn't ,

    Unless they Asian, most the time age is a factor,

    Most the Russian Girls are controlled by the mafia.

    You wouldn't believe it but Helena has asked for my bank account details! She says she needs to put money in there as she can't access it. As if I'm going to give out my personal account details to someone I've never even met. I was also getting emails from a girl in Sydney named Svetlana who had the same exact story about how her Australian boyfriend died in a car crash. They must know each other how could two girls use the same story word for word.

    Hi I live in Christchurch New Zealand and have been receiving emails from Heelena Kapkova/kapkava. The emails are very romantic amd Mills and Boon. When I ask a direct question I don't get a direct answer, like how did she get my details? I haven't been asked for money but the photos have stopped arriving with the emails. Unfortunately I sent a photo of myself so I hope that isn't going to be used to my disadvantage.

    Ha ha she did hit me up for $3000 she has come down now to $1800 good story though I give her that. Either it's Helena using someone else's photos or its the named girl using a fake email address either way it's a scam. She goes alright even rings me from overseas that's a keen spammer I must say.

    Yes I too have received the emails, and now she has sent me her phone number to ring her. It is not her in the photo's, did a little digging and her real name is Alyona Mayboroda, she lives in the Czech Republic, Prague. She came here to visit and study with her husband, and left nearly two years ago, so this is where Helena is getting her photo's from, as she didn't make her photo's private. So whoever this girl (Helena) is, it's not the girl in the photo's (Alyona Mayboroda) as as I said, she is not in the country anymore. She hasn't asked me for money yet, but cant give her what I don't have. So be careful, this person is just another scammer after money.

    This phone number is being quoted by a person/s who calls themself, or themselves, Helena kapkava.

    A sudden email arrives purporting to be from a young lady in Brisbane, living in Cleveland. Claims to have "found your name on a web dating service" ....... strange, because I have never used a web dating service!!

    This is certainly a scam, which will probably subsequently lead to requests for money and who knows what else!!

    Ignore these emails, entertain them at your peril!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
