    These pricks have been calling me every day without saying a word and then hanging up... On all my mobile phone numbers. Scammers want you to call them back and then you get debited via your phone acoount thereafter. Block all calls.

    Had several missed calls from 03 9998 0477 and found out it was a scam. I decided to answer after the 4th day of them trying. Them told me they were from Optus and said that they could save me 50% off my bills. They had my name and told me they could give me unlimited phone calls and wanted to know how much internet I use. I asked them to tell me seeing as thought they were from Optus. He said sorry we are sales not billing and don't have that info. Sorry if your trying to upgrade my plan you should know what I'm on as I already have unlimited. I told him he was a scam and said goodbye.

    This number keeps calling my mobile. Apparently from Optus saying my number was chosen to receive a discount.

    Doddgy for sure as I called Optus and there were no discount deals.

    If you answer this number they first not telling you who they are. Instead they tried to know who you are and wanting to confirm your name. Then they asked if you own the property which you currently lived in. This is a doggy phone call and just don't give them anything. Simply hang up!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
