    All of these scams come from Indian or Asian people... Wake up to yourselves and stop letting them in. All calls are very scammy and are designed to destroy people who answer them.

    Call, no message left.

    I get multiple calls each day like this, the ones that arnt private numbers all track back to scams (insurance/ato/banks) or offers of services.

    This one appears to be domain name related.

    I recently registered some of the new domain name extensions so it looks like they scraped my contact details from there.

    Just received yet another call from 03 8400 4221. Generally these calls are from an Indian website development or Logo Development company trying to get business through cold-calling. Started happening after registering some internet domain names a couple of months ago and a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, they buy details of newly registered domain names and start trolling. You can find the selling companies via Google.

    Now, I just tell them to get lost. Pain in the rear-end nuisance they are.

    Get as many as ten calls a day from this 03 8400 **** series.02 1003 **** (how do they get these numbers), private barred numbers and others sequences: not to mention the dozen of emails as well.

    Probably scammers as they won't supply any solid information when you ask them.

    Recently, have started getting SMS message referencing the new domain name but worded in such a way as to imply the message was from the Domain Registrar company.

    Wish this sort of nonsense could be stopped somehow by the Australian Telcos. These people do not understand how much damage they are causing to the reputation of India and its people.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
